What is faith? The first meaning that comes to mind is trust and confidence in God. Webster’s dictionary also offers another meaning that is key to optimally living by faith: “faith is the firm belief in something for which there is no proof”. Furthermore, the Bible speaks plainly about this in Hebrew 11:1 (TLB), “What is faith? It is the confident assurance that something we want is going to happen. It is the certainty that what we hope for is waiting for us, even though we cannot see it up ahead”.

Faith brings possibilities closer to manifesting in our lives. On the other hand, unbelief, or doubt, which is the absence of faith, negates every expectation. Lack of faith makes what we can achieve even farther away and sometimes out of our grasp completely. Amid challenges and life’s ups and downs, faith will lift you above your circumstances and cause you to see yourself as an overcomer. When our actions are fueled by faith, we should expect what God has promised us to come to pass.

Decide today that you are going live a life of faith being completely sure that whatever God promised you, He can make it happen. (See Romans 4:21)
